NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming, in which I would call it a psychology of excellence and a technology of achievement. It was founded by both Richard Bandler and linguist, DrJohn Grinder, in the early 1970s. It is a powerful tool that encompasses the 3 most influential components involved in producing human experience: neurology (ie. Neuro) , language (ie. Linguistic) and programming. The neurological system regulates how our bodies function, our mind and how we think and behave which stems from our 5 senses. Language in this case means verbal and other non-verbal communication systems through which our perceptions are coded, ordered and given meaning. It also meant how we use such languages to order our thoughts and to communicate with others. Our programming determines how we organized our ideas and actions to achieve our results and the kinds of models of the world we create. Neuro-Linguistic Programming describes the fundamental dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay effects our body and behavior (programming), and eventually results.
In simpler terms, NLP is how you can use the language of the mind, to create any desired emotions (eg. confidence, courage, powerful, etc.) that you want and subsequently produce the results that you want. NLP is not only about competence and excellence, it is also about wisdom and vision.

Whenever I conduct NLP Training, there will always be a small group of who will asked me about how I felt and how I managed when I was diagnosed with cancer previously. Well, it wasn’t easy. Not only for me but my love ones too. In my opinion, is there anything more frightening than death? Yes, it’s not watching your love ones die, but watching your love ones live ……. but they don’t remember you. As I am typing this, there will be some people out there, somewhere out there, despite having financial, physical and mental challenges, you are and still taking care of your love ones …. who suffered from dementia.
This Korean Movie titled ‘A Moment To Remember’ reminded me how to treasure the love ones around us when I still remember them:
Do you know what the leading actress meant by ‘heaven’ when she asked ‘Is this heaven?’

10 years ago, if you were to tell your friends that one day, anyone can goes to outer space, they will tell you that you are crazy. Well, they are absolutely right. Only Astronuats can go to space. Then came along a crazy fellow by the name of Sir Richard Branson, who broke all limiting beliefs that it can’t be done. He did what the world thought it was impossible. He founded Virgin Galactic (http://www.virgingalactic.com) and send any human to outer space ……… of course if you can afford US$200,000. Watch his video below:
Then he recently unveiled his new venture into the deepest part of the ocean – Virgin Oceanic (http://www.virginoceanic.com/). He is really the only one man, one man that I know who take MASSIVE ACTION to BREAK all limits and limiting beliefs of the human kind. Watch his video about Virgin Oceanic below:
I simply love this crazy guy!

A few days ago, on my way to my office, I walked past a young lady in a wheel chair. She is probably in her mid-20s and she was selling tissue papers. It’s quite common that you will encounter old woman/man selling tissue papers in hawker centres, interchanges, etc. I took a quick glance at her and we made a brief eye contact. She wore glasses, a simple pastel-coloured dress and looked extremely skinny for her age. I continued walking thinking ……. After about 30m past this lady, for some unknown reason, I just felt that I should do something for her. I walked back to her and told her that I wanted a pack of tissue. She asked me whether do I want the wet tissue or the dry type. I told her that I wanted the wet tissue and asked her how much is it. She told me “A dollar’. I took out a dollar coin and wanted to pass to her but I found that she has slight problems moving her hands. Eventually, she took out a little pouch and wanted me to drop the coin inside. I did. She looked up at me, smiled said politely “Thanks. Have a nice day”. I replied “You too” and smiled back. I am not very sure how many packets of tissue she is able to sell. But I just felt that she is a strong lady, making her own living, smiling despite her disabilities and how others may looked at her.
Let me share with you a video about a armless pianist:
Looking at these people, ask yourself this question: “Is there anything you want to complain about your life?”

During my NLP Training last Sunday, one of my trainee told me a story and the story goes like this – there was this man who wanted to climb up a flight of stairs with 100 steps with a door up at the top. He carries with him the key to open the door, and a few important baggage with him. As he started his journey up the stairs, he gets more and more tired. After 20 steps up, he decided to drop a baggage as it was too heavy though it was important. He continued his journey up. After a flight of 40 steps, he dropped his next baggage as it was too heavy though it was important. He continued his journey. After a flight of 60 steps, he dropped his LAST baggage as it was too heavy though it was important. He gets more tired. When he reached the 80th step, he realised that he has left the key, the MOST IMPORTANT item needed to open the door, right at the bottom of the staircase. But it was too late to back down there to take the key as the time left was not enough.
Pease ask yourself this question – have you left your Dreams behind and have you drop your Dreams along the way in your life as you grow older?
Just to share a real life story about how 5 Taiwanese, with an average age of 81, still hang on to their dream and making their dreams come true. Watch this video:
