NLP SINGAPORE – A DREAM COME TRUE

Posted by on Aug 23, 2010 in Inspirational Stories, NLP Success & Life Tips | 1 comment

Hi Friends

Since young, I have always wanted to see a copy of my book, my very own book being placed on the shelves of bookstores, especially under the ‘BEST SELLERS’ section. It has finally came true after more than 1 year of hard work. With the help of my business partner, Pearlin Siow (who has previously written 3 books), we co-authored this book titled ‘Do You Have What It Takes To Be BOSS?’ sharing the Secret Codes to be a Successful Entrepreneur. In addition, we will be donating ALL our authors’ proceeds to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund to help the poor students who do not have money for school and food.

This is the cover of the book:

We have also been interviewed by Straits Times for this book project and the writeup was published in Straits Times on 14th Aug 2010 (Sat).

Please grab a copy at any major bookstores in Singapore such as Popular, Times, MPH, Kinokuniya, Borders, PageOne. You can see the photo where I can with one of the entrepreneur, Judy Koh, who is featured in the book. She runs a Cafe and a Cook School at http://www.creativeculinaire.com.

See you in  my next Free NLP Workshop.

NLP SINGAPORE – WILL I ESCAPED DEATH FOR THE 4TH TIME? (Part 1 of 3)

Posted by on Aug 19, 2010 in Inspirational Stories | 3 comments

The Lion was walking alone in the tunnel, a narrow dark tunnel. It was so dark that he can’t see its own feet. But he has to continue to move forward, hoping that he would catch a glimpse of light. There was no turning back ………

It was 21st Jul 2010. It was a day where I need to see a specialist for review at Singapore General Hospital after a CT Scan 2 days back. The sky was cloudy ……….. As I laid on the clinic bed, the doctor did a quick scan and gave his diagnosis of the my previous pain in my right waist. He told that it’s alright.

“How about the lump on the left that you have mentioned previously?” I asked the doctor.

“I will need to talk to you about this. Let’s talk over there.” replied the doctor.

The sky was getting darker and darker ……….. and it appears that a storm is brewing outside.

I was brought to a sofa, the doctor launched his laptop application and showed me the picture of the CT Scan and he started explaining.

“As you can see over here (he pointed to the scan), you can see the lump ……………… This lump is over 15 cm and it’s an extension from your left kidney. If you compare the colour shades with your right kidney, this lump has uneven shades whereas your normal right kidney has an even shade of colour. This means that the cells on your left kidney are not normal kidney tissues.” the doctor continued “…….. and 99% of the chance that it is malignant.”

There was a sudden outburst of thunder.

It was a shock. I was just stunned by the news and I found myself quiet most of the time while my wife hold my hands tightly while the doctor continued his explanation of my diagnosis. I wasn’t listening to the doctor. Questions started to shout inside my head.

“Why this has to happen?”

“My mum died of lung cancer and why I am next?”

“Why?”

“What should I do?”

“My daughter is only 2.5 years old?”

“I am still young?”

The questions never seem to end.

“We do not know the extent of the spread of the carcinoma. What we need to do now is to go for further scan of the bones of your whole body and other organs in your thoracic area. If it’s localised, we will have to remove this tumour and you will be fine. If it has spread, we will have to decide another course of action” the doctor continued. “What I will arrange for you is ………”

Another sudden clap of thunder and it started to rain heavily. The Lion continued to move forward inside the tunnel. He could hear the thunder and the heavy rain but he just could not see anything. It appears to be his worst nightmare and it really was.

The story continues …………………..

NLP SINGAPORE – I ESCAPED DEATH 3 TIMES

Posted by on Jul 7, 2010 in Inspirational Stories |

Hi Friends

Have you ever encounter some events in your life that totally changed your perspective of life, how you see things, and how you see people?

Let me share with you 3 short stories of how I escaped death 3 times:

Story 1

I was a student then in a local university, National University of Singapore (NUS). It all started when I have severe right pain on my right sole. The pain got worse and I have problem walking. I saw a bone specialist in NUH (National University Hospital) and a couple of white spots were found in the X-ray of my right foot. The doctor said that it could simply be nothing or it could be life threatening. To ease the pain, one of the nurses uses a spray to freeze the skin of my right foot and inject me with some medicine to ease the pain. I would have fare better without the injection, I started limping. After more tests and X-ray, the doctor draw conclusion that it was not life-threatening. I was only in my early 20s.

Story 2

A couple of months later, I remembered clearly that it was a cold day after a heavy shower. I was standing at a cross-junction outside Lakeside MRT Station, on my way to work in the evening after the day classes in NUS (I was studying full-time and working part-time). While waiting for the ‘Green Man’ to appear, something extremely hard hit me. It felt like someone has used a brick to hit my head. It took me a few seconds to gain consciousness. By the time I was aware of what’s going on, blood started to flow down my cheek. I looked around and saw a skidded motorcycle where the rider, as well as the pillion rider, were lying on the floor bleeding too. I fainted and by the time I gained consciousness, I was lying in an ambulance, staring blankly at the ventilating fan on the ceiling while listening to some beeping tone from a device which tracks my heartbeat. My neck was tightly fitted with a neck brace. I asked the medical officer what has happened. He said I might have been knocked down by a skidded motorcycle which has gone up the footpath. I might have been luckier if I buy Toto. The journey to the hospital seems like a long time with flashbacks running through my mind when I was young and I caught myself asking myself whether am I going to die in my early 20s? I ended up in Alexandra Hospital and I was monitored for the next 48 hours. The doctor was concerned that if I vomit within the next 48 hours, it means that there is internal bleeding in my brain and I will have to go through surgery to remove the blood clot. X-ray showed nothing and there was no signs of any crack on my skull. I survived the next 48 hours.

Story 3

It happened a couple of days ago when there were some symptoms that something was wrong with my urinary system. I went online and started to search for information. There were 3 possibilities: infection, kidney stones or cancer. I went to see a doctor and got an X-ray immediately. While waiting for the diagnostic report to be out, the doctor prescribed some antibiotics. While waiting for the report to be out, I suddenly felt that I should get some things in order if the worst happens – get a will written up. My days are as usual then – working and spending time with family. As you are reading this, I have just obtained the medical report. It was an infection and I have to be put on another course of antibiotics. Phew! One thing for sure, my will has to be written.

My father has died due to stroke and heart attack while my mum died because of terminal stage lung cancer. I have no wish to die young. My girl is only 2.5 years old and I wanted to watch her grow up. There are so much things meaningful to do in life. I do not wish to go to heaven yet. As Steve Jobs from Apple has said during his Commencement Speech in Stanford University, ‘Everyone wants to go to heaven. But no one wants to die to get there.”

So what has it got to do with NLP?

Ask yourself this question, do you have friends who like to complain about life and what they do not have? Or do you have such challenges?

The moment you have discovered what you are here for and what’s your purpose in life, life becomes meaningful. That’s when your behaviour will totally be changed and thus your destiny.

Have a great week and LIFE!

NLP SINGAPORE – WINNERS PERSIST & PERSEVERE

Posted by on Jul 2, 2010 in Inspirational Stories, NLP Success & Life Tips, Uncategorized |

Hi Friends

A couple of days ago, I went to a local bookstore that sells personal books, bought more than $600 worth of books and asked for an old copy of ‘Success’ Magazine for free. The magazine is dated Jun/Jul 2008 with the title ’50 Greatest Entrepreneurs of All Time’ plus an interesting article about Paul J. Meyer. There was one article that Paul J. Meyer wrote titled ‘What It takes To Be a Winner’. It was a fascinating article for me because Paul walks the talk. When he was age 25, he build the largest insurance agency in North America recruiting more than 800 agents in 12 months. For the last 50 years, he has earned the about US$20 – US$50 million per year. 2 principles that he has used in his life was these:

1)       Winners are willing to pay the price of success

2)      Winners persist and persevere

Just to share that my little dream of publishing a book will be realised within the next 1  month. See book cover below:

I always have a vision of my 1st book being placed on the bookshelves of all major bookstores such as Popular, Times, MPH, Borders, Kinokuniya, etc. In addition, I have a vision where the book will be placed on the Best Selling rack of Popular Bookstores and I am sure it will come true. Publishing of this book was difficult right from the start as I need to look for business owners who want to sponsor the publication such that ALL the sales proceeds go to Straits Times School Pocket Fund. Initially, to attract these people, I started using the Internet to save cost. No one responded for a couple of months. I changed strategies and conducted Social Media Marketing Workshops to attract business owners. Wrong people came. They are here to look-see-look-see or they are mainly employees. I changed the ad that I have placed targeting only business owners. The crowd that came for my workshop dropped to a low level but at least more self-employed or business owners appeared. Took me about 4 months just to attract close to 20 business owners. Subsequent challenges set in when some sponsors wanted changes several times, this put me in a tight spot several times between my business partners and the sponsors as expectations were different. We managed to accommodate the differences and moved forward. Then comes to the design phase where more work needs to be done in terms of communication. A few days ago when I have told the Printing Company to start printing the book, our distributor shared that I might be infringing the copyright of other people because I used their quotes. I have to quickly asked the printing company to stop printing and with a friend’s friend who is a lawyer specialising in Intellectual Property. Fortunately, this lawyer said that using famous people’s quote does not constitute copyright infringement. That’s when I could sleep and told the printing company to continue to print. From the onset of the idea of this book until now, it took me more than 1 year to sort things out and overcome challenges. I am glad that I am almost at the end part of this race.

I target the books to be out by mid Jul and subsequently distributed to major bookstores by National Day. It’s the day that I have specially picked. The part that I am most proud of for this book is that ALL the sales proceeds will be donated to the Straits Times School Pocket Fund where the fund is is used to help poor students who do not have pocket money to eat or to go to school. I target the amount to be more than S$12,000.

It does not take a super rich person to do good or help others, it just takes a person with a heart. It does not take a Superman to overcome tough obstacles, it just takes a person who are willing to pay the price of success, persist and persevere.

Have a great weekend!

NLP SINGAPORE – BELIEFS EQUAL RESULTS

Posted by on Jun 25, 2010 in NLP Success & Life Tips, Self Improvement |

Hi Friends

I am going to share with you today on how your beliefs (or what you believe in) can help you to get what you want or stop you from getting what you want. Before I share with you what is the relationship between beliefs and your results, I am going to ask you a couple of questions.

Do you believe that you can increase your total income by 5% next month? Do you believe that you can increase your total income by 15% next month? How about do you believe that you can increase your total income by 50% next month?

I know that you will most likely to believe that you can increase your total income by 5% but NOT 50% next month. Assuming that increasing your income is worthwhile and if you believe that you can increase your total income by 5%, will you do something to make it happen? Of course you will. But  if you DO NOT believe that you can increase your total income by 50%, will you do something to make it happen? Of course NOT because you strongly believe that even if you do it, it’s not going to happen. So why waste time?

So do you realise that once you do NOT believe in something, you will NOT do anything about it since it’s not going to happen anyway. If you do NOTHING about it, then you get NOTHING. Let me give you an example. I have met many people and even friends who have a dream to start their own business. However, they do not believe that it’s possible because they will give reasons such as they are too old, too young, no money, no partners and the list goes on. The moment they believe that they CAN’T, they will NOT do anything, thus NO results.

Recently, I have launched my new investing programme called Value Investing Academy at http://www.investment-in-stocks.com. This was possible because one of my current Master Trainer changed my belief that it’s possible to generate monthly income leveraging on Value Investing Methologies used by the richest investor in the world, Warren Buffett. Previously, I do not believe what he said, so I simply treat what he said as a passing remark. After he has showed me his investing account and the passive income that he makes monthly, my belief changed. Because of the change in my belief, I start taking ACTION. With that, RESULTS are produced. Please view some of the photos where the participants have changed their belief about generating monthly passive income, and thus real-life results.

You see how powerful Beliefs can be in changing your behaviour, your results and thus your life?

NLP SINGAPORE – HOW TO SEE OPPORTUNITIES

Posted by on May 22, 2010 in NLP Success & Life Tips, NLP Techniques, Self Improvement |

Hi Friends

It’s Saturday and it’s a great start to a weekend and a coming new week.
It was a hectic week for me as usual with the launch of a new programme that focus on generating passive income leveraging on Value Investing, a methodology created by the richest investor on the planet by the name of Warren Buffet.

The Economic Crisis for Singapore is over while some European countries start to have financial challenges. Why am I sharing with you this? I want to share how you can ‘start to see’ plenty of opportunities.

One key factor that helps you or blinds you from seeing opportunities is your ‘Attitude’. Some people called in ‘Mindset’. In NLP terms, we call it ‘Filters’. Imagine 2 people are presented with an event, these 2 people will response differently depending on their filters. The negative one will find the event a problem & an extra piece of work. The positive one will perceive it as an opportunity. Let me give you a real-life example. When the economic crisis started in late 2008, many people find it extremely challenging especially there were plenty of news about restructuring or retrenchment. Yes, it’s true. It’s also true that during this period of time, it’s a once-in-life-time opportunity where you can become richer. Why? Because, it is also during the same period where great investors like Warren Buffet enters the stock market and purchase lots and lots of good stocks at a huge discounted price when the stock market plunge.

So while you are reading this, you may be thinking how can you change your attitude/mindset such that you can start seeing opportunities. Let me share with you how you can consciously carry out the following:
1) Work on your thoughts
When you caught yourself having negative thoughts, ask ‘what positive lessons can I learn from this event?’
2) Change your speech pattern
When you use negative words (eg. Complain, gossip, etc.). Make a conscious effort to stop and use positive words.
3) Modify behaviour
When you notice yourself exhibiting negative behaviour, do a physical change by thinking of something positive, good or something that you are happy about. Actively visualise yourself performing that positive behaviour.

It takes time to change your mindset if it’s deeply ingrained. However, it CAN be done. The moment you start seeing opportunities, that’s when fortunes and other results start to flow it.

Let me share with you how you can change your filters by attending our Free NLP Workshop NOW!

NLP SINGAPORE – KNOW CLEARLY WHAT YOU WANT AT THE END OF YOUR LIFE

Posted by on May 17, 2010 in Inspirational Stories, NLP Success & Life Tips |

Hi Friends

For the past 1 month, numerous events have happened. Regardless of the nature of the events, there were positive learnings in every single one of them.

It’s imperative to note that as there are UNLIMITED things to do in life, there is LIMITED TIME. As such, you need to know what you REALLY REALLY want in life, NOT just ‘what you want in life’ BUT ‘what you want at the end of your life’. What you can see, what you can hear and what you can feel. Once you know exactly what you want to see, hear, and feel being achieved right at the end of you life, your ‘radar’ will be opened up and you will start to see opportunities and attract right minded people. I have been wanting to run NLP training in Mandarin in Singapore & China and have constantly been seeking out for the right people to work with. Having this in mind, my ‘radar’ will be opened and will constantly be aware of the right people and right resources that will make this dream come true. I am glad that I have found a business partner a few months back. Please view some of our training photos below:

There are a few things that I liked training the Mandarin-speaking group. The trainees are very hardworking, humble, and respectful. Whenever they sees you, they will address you as ‘Teacher”.

We have already established the 1-day training and has moved on to a 2-day NLP Training in Mandarin in July. More than 50% of the seats are already taken and it will be a wonderful session ….. as usual.

Know CLEARLY what you want at the end of your life and TAKE CONSISTENT ACTION towards it regardless of the criticism you will face and obstacles along the way.

Let me share with you how you can will know what you want by attending our Free NLP Workshop NOW!
