NLP SINGAPORE – LOTS OF GRATITUDE TO MY FRIENDS & SWISH 23

Posted by on Feb 13, 2013 in Inspirational Stories |

Hi Friends

On 8 Jan 2013, it was a beautiful where I had a meeting in the morning at 10:30am. Unfortunately, I felt uncomfortable suddenly and I admit myself to National Cancer Centre as there were signs of a possible relapse of my kidney cancer. It has been 2 years since I had my mango-size tumour removed, but during that moment, my mind ran wild. For the next remaining day, I was running between National Cancer Centre and Urology Centre (in SGH) trying to get a chance to see a doctor, and eventually I did. I was scheduled to go through a series of blood tests, urine tests, Ultrasound Scan & CT Scans. A couple of doses of medicine from my regular doctor makes me feel better. It wasn’t a good feeling but it was a great reminder about life.

For the next few weeks, life went on as usual and when I posted some updates of my episodes on Facebook, I started to receive lots of care and concerns from my friends. See some of my Facebook status comments on my posts:

Coincidentally. most of them are my current or past NLP Participants. I was really really touched. In addition, I get surprise smses, calls and even visits at my office. It’s during such difficult times where I know how I have treated people in the past just based on their care and concerns.

As I had my tests done throughout the weeks that follow,  I continued to do what I love – had a large batch of Value Investing Programme (VIP) done, conducted numerous speaking engagements and last day of NLP Swish 23:

With all these engagements going on, the most touching moments took place on 26th Jan 2013 where I was running last day of my NLP Training for Batch Swish 23. The training ended around 5:30pm where suddenly, one of the participant, Harry, said that he is something to share. He plugged his thumbdrive into my laptop and he started playing a short video clip from the movie Rocky:

I was so focused on the video that I did not realized that some of them already positioned themselves to do something that was simply crazy:

Guess what they were preparing to do when they turn over? An NLP Skit!!!! YES!! An NLP Skit. It was HILARIOUS!! At the same time, it was so touching of them to take time off their family and work to run rehearsals for this skit:

When the skit was over, I was on my feet, laughing. It was too hard to bear.

Then suddenly, another NLP friend of ours called Cassandra came up said something that eventually put me to tears and at that moment, Ken came up simultaneously and presented a card that was specially designed to motivate me:

That’s how the card looks like:

Our Parting Shot to the Wonderful People who have contributed to the Skit, not forgetting the rest of the class who were there to brighten up the entire room:

Last point that I wish to share that, of all the 1001 reasons why I could hang on to my passion for so loooong is simply this – I am always surrounded by friends who really appreciate what I do ….. with all my heart!

NLP SINGAPORE – IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO SAY THANKS

Posted by on Nov 20, 2012 in Inspirational Stories |

Hi Friends

Just moments ago, I have just sent out an email that I have wanted to send for the past 20 years (CLICK PICTURE to read):

This is the photo that I have attached in my email. This photo was taken during my convocation when I graduated with my 1st degree in National University of Singapore. My mum has always wanted to see one of her 4 sons to be a graduate. I fulfilled her dream. Unfortunately, she was no longer around with me to witness the convocation of my 2nd degree.

My question for you is this – “If there are certain important things that are important in your life right now that you have always wanted to do, have you done those?”

Dear Friends

Thank you for the various positive feedback regarding an interview that featured me on Sunday Times on 10th Jun 2012.

In the event that you did not manage to grab a copy, you can view the article below. CLICK on the article to have a better view.

Thanks for reading this article. In life, there is bound to be people who will put you down during your pursuit of your dreams. On the other hand, there will also be people who will lend you their hands when you needed most. Along this line, I will like to thank the following wonderful people who have made the above article possible:

1) Mr Wong Kim Hoh – Senior Writer of ‘The Straits Times’. He is one of the most passionate writer that I have ever known, calling me past midnight and early in the morning to clarify different facts of the article to ensure that the article is well written. I will be looking forward to more articles by Kim Hoh. Salute!

2) Ms Nuria Ling – She obviously loves her job. She was already at the venue  where we are supposed to have the shoot much earlier than me planning the different angles of the shoot. We had a great chat during the shoot!

3) Rachel Wong – one of the most successful entrepreneurs that I have ever met. Successful  yet humble. She started out as a hair-dresser to become the Managing Director of Marunda Utama Engineering Pte Ltd.

NLP SINGAPORE – 5 WAYS TO STAY MOTIVATED

Posted by on Apr 9, 2012 in NLP Techniques |

Hi Friends

Do you know how some people are frequently happy, positive and happy in their lives whereas the others wanted to but do not know how?

Here are some simple NLP tips that you can get started. By the way, it will only WORKS if you DO IT.

1. Recall Past Events/Occasions that make you feel ‘X’

If let’s say you wake up one morning and you drag yourself to school or to work but you wanted to feel happy instead. The steps are:

(i) think of a past event/occasions that you feel happy

(ii) Relive that event as though it’s happening right now, seeing and hearing the details you can observe

(iii) Enjoy the feelings arising as long as you can

Note: Choose those events that can give you a high intensity of positive feelings. For example, on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the most intense, you want to choose those events that have the scale of 8 and above.

2. Surround yourself with Positive Triggers

Ask yourself this. Do you have a favourite piece of music or song? Play it in your mind right now. How do you feel. Good?

The trick to keep yourself in a positive state any time you want is to surround with triggers that make you feel good. In NLP terms, such triggers are called Anchors. Some examples:

1) Pictures (Visual Anchor) – keep some pictures in your phone, place on your working desk, etc. where you feel good looking at them. It can be your love ones, your past achievements, etc.

2) Song/Music (Auditory Anchors) – play these in your portable players when you need them. Keep a list of songs/music that put you in a positive state.

3) Smell (Olfactory Anchors) – some people loves to smell perfume, shampoo, coffee, tea, etc. and if they don’t smell them early in the morning, somehow they felt something is not right.

3. Let go of Negative Events

If you encounter event that turns you off or upsets you, how can you feel good again?

Here are some steps:

(i) Recall this event

(ii) Place this event on a movie screen and imagine that you are watching this event with you acting in the movie

(iii) Imagine making the movie screen smaller by shifting it further and further away such that it becomes so small that you can hardly see. You will be pleasantly surprised that you don’t feel anything negative at all.

4. Think of your past Achievements

Most of us are may be too critical of ourselves such that we only remembered what are the things that we did not do well rather than things that we have done well.

Think of 10 successes that you have achieved in the past that you are very proud of yourself. Have such events recorded in photos and videos and put them in places where you can see/hear them any time when you need them.

5. Focus on things that you have

How you feel is all directly related to what you focus on in your mind. Let me give you an example: 1) List down 5 things that you do NOT have in your life right now, 2) List down 5 things that you have right now and you feel totally gratified that you have them. Which ones make you feel good? Things that you don’t have or things that you DO have?

The Secrets to Transforming your Life are not rocket-science.

Whatever thoughts that you have will lead to how you feel inside. How you feel inside will lead to how you behave and every behaviour and interaction with the environment and the people around you will determine your life and the cycle repeats itself.

Start with a positive thought each day by asking yourself what are you grateful for today!
