8 Things you don’t know about your competitors.

Posted by on Jun 30, 2014 in NLP Success & Life Tips |

1. Your competitors set goals.

Setting goals is an important component to keep you on track.
Decide what you want to achieve in the next three, six and twelve months so that you can make the right choices about which task to focus on.

2.1

2. Your competitors start early.

Training yourself to get started early can help you to get some extra work done. Successful people differentiate themselves with the norm. As an added bonus, the earlier you begin the more likely you’ll have time in the evening for a social life.
2.2

2. Your competitors rule out distractions.

Distractions are everywhere, but competitors take steps to block them out. This can be as simple as shutting the door or turning off your phone.
2.3

3. Your competitors have a clear working space.

Cross out your frustration and confusion. Having a clear working space will increase your productivity, efficiency and reduce margin of errors.

2.4

4. Your competitors are strict about spending time on each project.

Discipline is the key word to achieve your goals. Your competitors learned to set limits on how much they work on each project and draft up a schedule to pen down how much they should spend on each project each day.2.5

5. Your competitors know how to use small bits of time.

You’ve got fifteen minutes before a call to a client – what do you do? If you said ‘check Facebook’ then you may want to take a look at your competitors. They have a list of tasks that only take ten or fifteen minutes on hand at all times. Whenever they have a spare bit of time they start moving through the list. Imagine how much you could get done if you did the same.

2.7

6. Your competitors have strict working hours.

You’ve heard it before: don’t check Facebook and Twitter while working. Your competitors have heard it too, but they’re taking it to heart. Multitasking is not as easy as it seems. A new piece of information can quickly knock your schedule out of whack, putting you behind for the rest of the day. As tempting as it may be to give your feed just a quick peek, keep that new window closed.

2.6

7. Your competitors collaborate with others.

Collaborating with others is likely something your competitors do to help manage their time. Do you have too much work to get done by your next deadline? Freelancers in your social or professional network can help share the load. Create those relationships now and you may even find them sending work back when your schedule is looking a little lean.

2.8

8. Your competitors have a life!

Your competitors take time to get out with friends and family, exercise, and pursue hobbies they enjoy. If you feel you don’t have the time for these pursuits because you’re too busy working on your business, now may be the time to reexamine your time management skills.

2.9

Have you find your own competitor to push and motivate yourself?

How to identify and avoid second-hand stress from others?

Posted by on Jun 6, 2014 in NLP Success & Life Tips |

Hi friends,

Second-hand stress happens subconsciously in our daily lives. It can easily influence by other stressed people just like you having a common cold. In this post, you will learn how to spot second-hand stress and avoid the unnecessary stress.

1.1

But we can learn how to identify second-hand stress and not sink into it.

Identify 1: Identify the negative people in your life

It’s usually emitted by those people closest to you, in terms of relationships and time spent together. Thus, it tends to be your spouse/partner, children, work colleagues and supervisors and anyone else you spend a lot of time with, such as close friends or even neighbours. The more empathetic a person is, the more likely they will suffer second-hand stress.

1.2

Identify 2: Recognize the situations in which second-hand stress can occur.

There are lots of times when you can unconsciously take on board another’s stress. Example:

A colleague, boss or client pressures you about a deadline that he or she perceives as urgent. You don’t believe it to be as urgent as this person insists but by the time you’ve heard his or her stress about it, you’ve joined the club.

1.3

After identifying the second-hand stress, we need to know how to avoid it. The following are the solutions that may help you to release unnecessary stress.

Solution 1: Take charge of your own emotions

1.4

Once you can recognize the times in your life when stress seems to be catching, you can begin to stop yourself from falling victim to absorbing other people’s stress.

Notice yourself mimicking stressful stances, attitudes and body language. Are you scrunching up your shoulders just like the stressful colleague? Are you screwing up your forehead with worry just like your spouse? Take a moment to notice how tense your body is and make a conscious choice to relax every part of it and shake off those negative vibes.
1.5
Solution 2: Be an atmosphere change

  • If it’s someone complaining about things, tell them something positive about themselves or the situation.
  • If they’re worried about meeting a deadline, suggest spending time together to plot out a way to reassure the worrier. You could offer to show this person how you prioritize pressing tasks.
    1.6

Solution 3: Acknowledge and accept what you can’t change

  • You won’t always be able to put a positive shine on a situation or personal issue and you won’t always be able/want to be out of the presence of a stressful person or situation. In this case, you’ll need to armor yourself mentally and be prepared to remain positive and to not allow the stressful person’s outlook to color yours.
  • Stop trying to protect and comfort someone who is a source of stress when this increases your own stress. Sometimes you’ll need to call it like it is, as it’s quite possible the person bringing the stress home from work or spreading it around work, doesn’t even realize the impact that he or she is having on others. Tell the person in question about the impact his or her stress is having on you. Use “I” statements but don’t avoid it; the other person needs to understand how harmful this has become to you.

Prioritize your tasks and get it rolling ~ Have a great weekend ahead.

NLP – 8 simple gestures that will make a difference in other people lives.

Posted by on May 3, 2014 in Self Improvement, Uncategorized |

Making a difference in other people lives is a beautiful thing that can happen in this world.

14

If you think of your work as a contribution to the world (great or small) then you can proudly say that you have contributed X amount of difference in making this world a better place.

If you help 2 or more people make their contributions, you can say you have made a good double amount of difference in making this world a wonderful place. You multiply your contributions and at the same time you polish your leadership skills by teaching others to help other people to create, produce and make contributions. The amount of difference made in this world not only by multiplies, but it keeps on multiplying beyond you.

Unfortunately, many people don’t see it in this way, instead, they tear people down, block them, hoard the goods for themselves and jealous of the success of others. In order to break free from this jealousy and meanness, we need to learn to be happy for others, count their success as our success and feel proud of the contributions we have made in helping others make a difference.

The world will thank you for it.

If you have no idea where to kick start, the following are the simple yet meaningful ways to help others:

Sharing Knowledge

15

The key is to keep educating yourself so that you can help others simply by sharing your knowledge.

Finding out what’s valuable to them

16

We can help others by finding out what’s valuable to them. Make an effort to ask them where they need help, and keep that in mind when you see an opportunity.

Sharing your resources

17Think about the resources you have invested in and be mindful of whether they can help someone. Maybe you have Spiderman 2 tickets that you won’t be able to attend. Keep those unused resources in the back of your mind and try to connect them with people who can use them.

Making them aware of an opportunity

18

It’s important to keep an eye out for opportunities. It could be a potential partner or job opportunities. Once you see an opportunity, think about who could benefit from knowing about it.

Giving them transparent feedback

19

There is a difference between telling someone that they are no good and giving them good examples of how they can improve. Some people won’t take it well but, in the long run, you will help people that you want to work with and improve the efficiency and success of your company as well.

Being a brand advocate

A-Great-Brand

Think about the products and services that you love, and don’t be shy about letting people know about them.

Volunteering your time

20

Time is valuable and most people understand that. When you take out time out of your day to help a friend, they will remember it.

Recognizing them

21

There are variety of ways to give someone recognition. You can include them in an article that you have written or mention them in a speech or presentation. An easy way to recognize someone is to nominate them for an award. There are countless awards out there that could really help out your network. It will mean a lot to the nominee that you thought of them and wanted to recognize them. On a smaller scale, you can have internal recognition within your company.

NLP Singapore – Stop Working Like an Octopus.

Posted by on Apr 11, 2014 in Self Improvement, Uncategorized |

You’re on the phone with a client and at the same time you quietly typing email to another client. As soon as you hang up, a colleague sends you an instant message, which you read over while dialling your manager’s extension number. Then during your phone conversation with her, you start doing your client’s proposal.
1

Our perception of multitasking is to boost our productivity especially we are in a country where the pace of life is fast and hectic. People who can multitask are typically seen as efficient an effective .After all, don’t we get more tasks done at one time than doing one task at a time?
2
Come to think about it, multi-tasking doesn’t make us as productive as we think. It will increase our anxiety and stress level for messing up our tasks. In fact, it’s likely that the quality of our work will be affected and cost us time to re-create it.

8 tips to kick away multi-tasking habit

  1. Plan your day in blocks. Set specific times for returning calls, answering emails, and doing research.
    ec4e2940735b5ee2680be5b08702b8ff_resized
  2. Manage your interruptions. Keep a log on those who interrupts you the most and how urgent the requests are.
    7
  3. Learn how to improve your concentration  so you can focus properly on one task at a time. You’ll be surprised at how much you get done just by concentrating on one thing at a time.

4

  1. Every time you go to check your email or take a call when you’re actually supposed to be doing something else, take a deep breath and resist the urge. Focus your attention back to what you’re supposed to be doing.
    10
  2. If you get an audible or visual alert when emails come in, turn it off. This can help you avoid the temptation to check your inbox whenever you get new mail.
    5
  3. Whenever you find yourself multitasking, stop. Take five minutes to sit quietly at your desk with your eyes closed. Even short breaks like this can refocus your mind, lower your stress levels, and improve your concentration. Plus it can give your brain a welcome break during a hectic day.
    I'll+be+back
  4. There will be times when something urgent comes up and you can’t avoid interruptions. But instead of trying to multitask through these, stop and make a note of where you left your current task. Record any thoughts you had about how to move forward. Then deal with the immediate problem, before going back to what you were doing. This way you’ll be able to handle both tasks well, and you’ll leave yourself with some clues to help you restart the original task more quickly.
    12
  5. If you find your mind wandering when you should be focusing on something else, you need to guide your thoughts back to what you are doing by putting yourself in the moment. For example, you might be sitting in an important team meeting, but thinking about a speech you’ll be giving soon. Tell yourself, “I am in this meeting, and need to focus on what I’m learning here.” Often, acknowledging the moment can help keep you focused.
    13

Many of us think that multitasking is the best way to get through the demands of our working day. This is a myth! The reality is that multitasking lowers the quality of our work, reduces our ability to focus, and can actually cost us time.

Have you plan your day yet?
